As a Republican, I enjoyed this movie
I did see a little bit of a left slant but I am not as hardcore of a Republican as some other Republicans. I lean left on a few social issues and I have been told by some that I am a "South Park Republican"... whatever... I own a business and I like low taxes and I cherish my guns and my rights to own them. There's me as a Republican....
But, this movie is incredibly well-acted. I loved seeing three actors from "The Ref" in this film - and "The Ref" is one of my all time favorite comedies. The characters on both sides were very interesting and engaging. The story we all know - it was a freakin' mess and that's that. Had Gore won, I mean come on, 9/11 would have still happened as well as the economic mess that we're in now. I don't see how life would have been that much different really.
Overall, I see how some people can see a liberal bias but to me it's more slight than in-your-face. One of the landmarks in the whole mess was the intervention of the Florida Judicial system when VP Gore didn't even ask for it. To me, that set the tone for the mess just as much as the dimpled chad, hanging chad, the protests, blah blah blah. I also notice that HBO is getting REALLY liberal - my GOD! So many documentaries bashing everything on the right. I don't enjoy it anymore but I was glad to stumble upon this movie.
There's an aura in this movie that reminds me of 1998's "Pirates of Silicon Valley". I think because so much of both movies have happened in my lifetime to where I can say "Yeah, I remember where I was when that happened." Sorry for the long post.
