Tom Wilkinson's lousy accent

Has anybody noticed Tom Wilkinson's crappy American accent, just at the start of the movie? I know he's a good actor, but couldn't they find a born American for that role. He sounds like me trying to speak Japanese. Awful accent.

Even worse was Dennis Leary's horrible Boston accent. I know he's from Boston and all but we've all seen him in Rescue Me with no accent. And the accent would come and go too.

I am from England so I did not notice it too much, however I thought Tom's accent in Batman Begins was awful, one of the worst I have ever heard. Great actor, but can't do accents!

and kevin spacey seemed rather gassy.

Im English and I thought Tom Wilkinsons accent was fine, in fact his whole character was excellent. John Hurt also excellent. Although I was surprised to see two Brits in such prominent roles in this film. Couldnt they find any Americans that felt passionately about this miscarriage of justice?

reply

probably. but brit actors can pronounce multi-syllabic words like they actually use them in real life. helps in a legal like drama.

He actually sounds a lot like Baker in real life. John hurt's accent, on the other hand, was a miscarriage of justice.
