Black Iraqis?
Ive never been to the country, but is there that large of a black population in Iraq? Im guessing that casting decision was was due to the African filming locations.

shareI have only been to southern Iraq, but no, I hardly saw any black people. However, I don't think the people in Generation Kill could be called "black" either. There were many who were a bit too dark skinned to be Iraqi, but not actually black.
Darth Vader is Luke's dad! The one ring is destroyed! And Ned Stark dies!
In McNab's "Bravo Two Zero" he mentions one of the soldiers at the prison was a black Iraqi.

There are Black Iraqis, though they're not as prevalent as the series makes it seem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afro-Iraqi.
shareI personally don't recall seeing many, if any, black Iraqi's when I was in country.
