Final conversation between Wright and Ferrando

What did you think of the brief final conversation between Wright and Ferrando just before Wright leaves in episode 7?

Do you think Ferrando manages to justify the choices he made during the war, or is his just trying to cover his own ass and make himself look a little better while he still can?

Darth Vader is Luke's dad! The one ring is destroyed! And Ned Stark dies!

I think it was a pretty fair explanation, he can only act on what he sees himself, responding to everyone's gripes and interpersonal issues would be a mess.

If that's what you meant. I can't remember his whole speech.

I think he tried to explain and answer the questions that the public and us as viewers would have about certain choices that was made that could be second guessed and monday chair quarterbacked after the dust settled. If that's how that convo went down, it was a very smart of Ferrando to have that in the end.

Evan Wright himself said that Ferrando did not have the omniscient view that the show provides the audience with, which makes it hard for the viewer to square away his assessment of the men under his command. Ferrando had no choice but to extend his trust to all of his officers until it was established beyond doubt that someone was not deserving of that trust.
