Why didn't someone shoot the idiot company commander?

The enemy got off a lucky shot with a captured M16. Oh, well.

Too many people in the group, and the communications were too good. Had it been a smaller more isolated group I'm betting it would have happened.

Due to the simple fact that they are members of a high disciplined military force. They are professionals and elite professionals at that.

Also the fact that they would get tried with murder.

That would have just been the biggest hypocrisy of all time as the Americans (and coalition) were trying to hunt Saddam Insane who along with his sons was notorious for his torture chambers and shooting himself and by proxy Iraqi Officers who made mistakes! Whether it be in the Iran-Iraq War or even those rising up (for regime change) after his defeat in the 1991 Gulf War!
