Seriously speaking
..If I had a lot of money, I wouldn't waste it on drugs and hookers. Think about the stds and the harm that drugs do.

shareThat's easy to say.
shareIt's easier to throw away money one doesn't have to work to get.
What are you a Mormon or something

Yea this appeared to be a plot hole. If one really had all that money, they would be saving like for their kids college, luxury vacations, etc. No way would one be foolish enough to blow it on drugs and hookers
shareYou'd be surprised at how foolish people can be if they suddenly have a lot of money.
shareI wouldn't know. I never had any money to just waste
shareThis is why a lot of folks in Hollywood are messed up on drugs and sex.
"In the real world," high end drugs are too expensive for people to buy, and "high end hooker sex" -- like, just an hour or two -- could cost a month's pay to a working stiff.
But in Hollywood -- as in the high finance world of THIS movie -- so much money comes pouring in so fast that there is no problem WHATSOVER with paying for expensive drugs or expensive hookers. (I am speaking mainly to the men in the business, but rich women also buy drugs and can buy male hookers.)
As the late Robin Williams said "Cocaine is God's way of telling you that you're making too much money!"
Jordan was a liar, conman and a thief. A criminal.
So if the amount of sex and drugs was based on what he said, he could have been largely exaggerating.
Or else H.Wood did to make it more exciting/entertaining than it really was.
No doubt stockbrokers use blow and hookers.
I just question if it was that much and that open.
I hope my comment on anther post helps: https://moviechat.org/tt0993846/The-Wolf-of-Wall-Street/65e79a0a7786f3062b7d7f83/That-much-sex-everywhere-Really?reply=65e79f877786f3062b7d7fae
According to the book, and various other sources, it is a part of wall street culture.share
Drugs and expensive prostitutes, and wild parties.
Most wall street traders and brokers are on 16 hour working days, that means other than sleeping that is all they do, a lot of them use drugs to increase performance, because if you don't perform you lose your job very quickly and permanently. Who want a trader could not make money? And the wall street firms usually turn a blind eye.
And most of them, at least those who survived through their performance, even very rich, don't have a lot of time for women, that is why wild parties are usually given to provide some relief. And the firms usually encourage wild spending and expensive habits, so the traders would burn their money and go back to work.
