Who else was totally shocked at the ending?!

It's not very often that you see a movie where the "always a bridesmaid never a bride" (literally in this case) type of character, who has a more popular/beautiful sister, falls in love with a guy who doesn't reciprocate those feelings and makes the main character feel dejected but all the while meets a better charming, young man whom she initially disregards, later realizes she loves, only to soon after go through a major conflict with him but have it finally resolved due to some dramatic grandstanding romantic gesture ending in a blissful fairytale-esque resolution where all the "bad" characters get their due justice and the "good" characters end up happy in love.

The younger sister was the only "bad" one, since the boss was a nice guy who took advantage of his way-too-accommodating assistant. And as far as the little sister was concerned, it was probably very easy to become a spoiled "taker" in life since she was raised as such.

The end to me, was not shocking at all since it was pretty obvious that they writer, jaded to true love, starts to see the err of his ways.

I'm guessing the op was being sarcastic?
