Like when those people were doing it as surrogates outside that club. I'm assuming they could feel that, but the tagline talks about how pain doesn't exist. Some kind of genetically engineered receptors that mimicked pleasure only?
Yes but the thing is, as far as neuroscience goes, if you "see" your arms getting chop off, you would still "feel" pain, just by seeing it and thinking about pain. That's like... that's like being hurt in a dream and waking up and beeing in pain.
I wish I could find it but there was this test were people would wear goggles connected to cameras in the eyes of a plastic mannequin, the person would look at her own belly but would be seeing the mannequin's. Another person would then 'cut' the mannequin with a knife and the person 'seeing that as his own body' would feel the pain.
Pain is just a trick of the brain. If we can find what mechanisms cause it, we can turn it off. With future tech, it can be fine-tuned according to the user's desires.
"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you"
