Do the customers know when Ramsay is there, he's not cooking lol

I keep seeing that every one of these episodes the narrator says that " When news spreads that Ramsay is at (fill in the blanks) the restaurant is packed "

Do the customers think that Ramsay is there to cook for them? Because it looks like he's hands off during service and this is before the remodeling and revamped food.

So why should they be surprised the food sucks at first. Maybe they come just to see Ramsay. But I would wait until they revamp the menu if I was them lol

...and so they can get on tv. I think that's part of the reason so many people complain and send food back that first night.

Maybe they're hoping the camera will zoom in on them and air their complaints.

Fraaaank. FRANK! Get my jean bin. Susie wants my jeans.
No she doesnt.

I always said, if I were eating at one of these places when Ramsay was there, I would order the special! In the earlier episodes, he always crafted a couple of specials and the chefs seemed able to execute them. I noticed, in the last season or 2, the episodes lost that aspect.

Because he's a celebrity.

I do agree with falconefans that a lot of customers send their food back to the kitchen just to try to get on TV. I bet any other night they would just eat it.
