My god this film is underrated. Children will grow up with this film

Making it a sure to be cult classic, this has the spirit of the old Spielberg I thought I'd never get to see again. It's a joy, pure adventurous fun for the young at heart. The score is perfect. the animation is so overwhelmingly beautiful I catch new details upon each viewing. I don't want Jackson for the sequel I want Spielberg back. His 80's amblin adventure DNA is all over this film and I love that. I wish more people could let themselves go and just enjoy this film, I really do. But the world isn't like that. So for now it will remain an under appreciated gem, cherished by the fools who think themselves young, while our kids grow up with it becoming part of their future nostalgia.

I'd rather they grow up with the books than the film.

I personally found the film underwhelming, although if Spielberg had done this story 20 years ago it probably would be a classic.
