2. Nobody ever claimed that the sequel would be coming out in 2013. 2014 was the oroginal date that was floated around by Kathleen Kennedy, but that's been pushed back a year after Jackson's tour of duty on The Hobbit was extended.
3. Spielberg's a little busy with Lincoln right now.
4. Again, Jackson's busy with The Hobbit too.
5. Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are all still signed up for the sequel.
1. Again??2. Yes they DID claim 2013 was the release date. THEN it changed to 2014. NOW its 2015. FACT.3. Busy? The film has been released and screened. He doesn't do PR for Oscars. The studio does that.4. Busy? The film has been released and screened.5. Link?
1. I have never posted this thread before.2. Yes3. Lincoln has been released in all the markets that matter. And award ceremonies? How many of those is he attending? 2? 3 maybe? You are reaching, my friend.4. Reshoots, pickups blah blah blah. Face it. The Tin Tin sequel has been delayed and the Hobbit films are a convenient excuse. Its already been stated principal photography will only take three weeks. So re-shoots and pickups will take more than 49 weeks, per year, of the next two years? lol5. So in other words you don't have a link. Thought so.

Prior to yesterday, Lincoln had been released only in the US and Canada. It's being released in Europe as of this week, and Spielberg is currently promoting the movie in Spain, Italy, France etc. That, coupled with the major award ceremonies (Golde Globes, Oscars, BAFTAs, Satellite Awards, etc), means he has a pretty busy schedule right now.

Jackson always said he would shoot the Tintin sequel after he was done with The Hobbit. Since there are now three Hobbit movies instead of two, he still has to film a large chunk of the third movie, which will keep him and Andy Serkis (who's the Second Unit Director) busy until this summer. After that, he will be able to find the time for principal photography on Tintin, which should take 3-4 weeks.
In other words, you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Then again, you've always been like that... reply share
1. Is he attending all those awards? Oscars yes, but BAFTAS? Satellites? I don't think so.2. I know EXACTLY what I am talking about. Shooting has already finished on The Hobbit. This is well known. And even if it hasn't, you are telling me there are not a few spare weeks to film a few torsos in front of blue screen and recorded some hammy dialogue? Really? So tell me. What month exactly are you claiming Tin Tin will be filmed?
I know EXACTLY what I am talking about. Shooting has already finished on The Hobbit. This is well known.
Except it hasn't: the third movie was announced after principal photography had been completed for the first two, and Jackson has already stated the remaining bits - including the Battle of the Five Armies, which is the single largest set-piece in the trilogy - will require 2-3 months of additional filming. Once that is officially done, he will move on to Tintin. As for the exact date, that depends on when he will be done with shooting There and Back Again.

That is a total load of rubbish and you know it. Just face the facts. The Tin Tin sequel is being shuffled around until they can find an appropriate time to shelve it. This is obvious to everybody.
A) Sequels get pushed back all the time. To name a recent example, Star Trek Into Darkness was originally announced for 2011, then scheduled for December 2012, then moved to this month (the exact same thing happened to the previous Trek film). The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Skyfall and The Hobbit all came out a year later than originally planned.
B) Peter Jackson Always said he would work on the Tintin sequel once he was done shooting The Hobbit. Since he still has to shoot a large chunk of the third film, Tintin had to be postponed.
Stop with the dishonest spin. It is very clear this film is being delayed and delayed and delayed again, so when the cancellation is announced, it will barely cause a ripple.
Peter Jackson said he would work on the Tintin sequel once he was finished with The Hobbit. That's a fact. He still needs at least a 10-week window to shoot the major set-piece of the third Hobbit movie (the Battle of the Five Armies). Also a fact. Not to mention the problem of making sure all the actor's schedules work out for Tintin, what with Simon Pegg currently on promotional duties for Star Trek Into Darkness and Andy Serkis being a bit busy with a little film called Dawn of the Planet of the Apes...
I already have.@ MaxYes, dishonest spin. Try to make all the excuses you want, (Hobbit, Star Trek, Battle of armies, Simon Pegg, Serkis, blah, blah, blah, blah and blah), but the FACT is this is all hot air on your part. This film has been shelved and with gather dust there forever.Tin Tin 1 flopped. Tin Tin 2 is too much of a risk and will never be made.
You're the one making false claims (Tintin flopped, Jackson is finshed shooting The Hobbit, Spielberg wasn't in Europe to promote Lincoln), so you might want to reconsider who you're calling dishonest...
1. Link?2. They claimed 2014 and before that 2013. This is a fact.3. He isn't even in Europe at the moment 4. Filming has already been completed on The Hobbit films. Now it is just the post production. Certainly enough time available to squeeze in the 3 short weeks it would require to film the tin tin sequel. Unless there is no sequel 5. The link didn't work
He was just in Rome for the Italian release, and he will be in Paris for the French premiere.
Filming has already been completed on The Hobbit films. Now it is just the post production.
Nope, there's still at least 10 weeks required to shoot the Battle of the Five Armies (which Jackson deliberately postponed after it became clear he would make three films), plus other stuff needed for the third movie which, I repeat, was announced and green-lit after principal photography for An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug had been completed, meaning the third film still has material that needs to be filmed.

2. So they were claiming 2013 when Tintin came out at the backend of 2011 and Peter Jackson was clearly busy with filming The Hobbit in 2012? Riiiiiiiiiiight.
3. He was just in Rome!
4. The Hobbit isn't done filming yet.
5. Worked for me.

2. Yes. With only a 3 week filming schedule required and simplistic CGI, 2013 was a very believable and achievable target.....IF it was greenlit. Which it wasn't. And isn't.

3. No he wasn't.
4. Yes it has

I doubt the sequel will ever be made. In fact I reckon Steven Moffat will have finished his Doctor Who stint and be available to write the sequel as its been so long in gestation.
