Facebook poll says

At least when I answered it, Facebook poll said 100% of people were planning on not seeing this film.

Now that's an achievement.

I have no problem with "black" films at all. But the jokes in this film are 8 years old.

reply

[deleted]

Yeah they are jokes we've heard before.

And the same characters.

Big loudmouth mom.

Not so Holy preacher.

Clueless best friends.

The girl of his dreams.

And the meanest thug in town wanting what he has gained.

It might have more to do with who the lead is. Casting plays a big part.

Bow Wow?

What has he done to warrent the lead in a film? He hasn't done anything in two years since his last cd except a few mixtapes. And that is not an insult to him. He might do well in this film but most folks have already forgotten him and a lot of folks don't like him. So you will have folk pass on the film.

Take him out and put in James Tyler Williams-you will see a different reaction.

Come on now, he was a great lead in "Like Mike"

;)

Agreed.

You think this film got a bad rap because of critics? Nah, its because black films and TV shows are so amazingly unfunny.

*beep* 'em. I'm going to see it.

I was interested in the trailer, seemed well-done. Bow Wow scares me off a little, gotta admit. I can lament the target audience: Black movies' sorry state of affairs, but those flicks bat on-par with horror films, really. Down in the single digits. When they're good, though, they're great. Case in point--"Black Dynamite", which was hilarious. Just like horror cinema, I wish there was more of a good thing going 'round.

He must be from Atlanta lol

Black Dynamite isnt a typical black movie

A typical black movie is something that typically feels like it was rushed. Like they took all the hottest black comedians who werent busy, threw them a script written up over a weekend, and had them run through one take. Just to pump out dough from the herds of black people who will see it and love it just because its a black movie. Its pretty insulting actually. I would feel insulted if I was black

Black Dynamite was quality though, and didnt follow the typical formula for a crappy black movie i.e Soul Plane

'CynE007' I agree, the flick was silly and predictable but fun to watch. Gotta judge for yourself people, don't let facebook, or rotten tomatoes, or boxofficemojo judge for you; if you haven't noticed, black films and films with black leads more often than not get bad reviews with these sites.
