Because pardon me for being so blunt, but these movies are *beep* god awful. Their like the black mans equivalent of Date Movie, Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans, etc.
The Tyler Perry movies, Barbershop, Death at a Funeral...holy sh*t.
If I was black, just seeing the previews for these movies would piss me off. But being white, naturally I just laugh (a petty laugh) and flip the channel.
Your right, I am black and I never watch films like these. In fact I would get insulted but then I realize that a small percentage of the population gets entertained by crappy movies like the ones you mention.
In fac I can see Hollywood doing well this weekend with Lottery Ticket and Vampire Sucks leading the pack of new releases.........Guess I will go see Scott Pilgrim.
why does it matter if black people like this movie?just because it stars black people doesnt mean its just for only them, & same thing goes for the so called white movies u mentioned. & no this probaly wont be every black persons cup of tea, but why is that an issue? did it ever occur to you that there are movies out there that will appeal to some & not others regardless of race. what are u? the movie nazi preaching movie apartheid.

do u live in a farm in the middle of nowhere? alot of different races watch these sort of movies, & this isnt a tyler perry movie where it has its little msgs domestic violence etc so why the comparison? & if you dont like these movies why bother complaining about it, it obviously has a fan base as to which why these movies are being made. there alot of other movies out there for u to watch.

Some people do like thse kinds of films, I'm not one of them usually( im black btw), but I dont go around complaining about films that I dont like on forums, especially if i feel im not the target audience. stop hatin, go do something productive, at least go discuss a film you like.
shareI actually enjoyed the movie, and to say this movie was on the level of disaster movie and other movies of the like is absurd. This movie was nowhere NEAR in the same vein as those ones..No it isn't for everyone, but it isnt horrible..
