so even though every one is in everyone else's business.....

they all just stood around watching Kevin getting his ass handed to him? Ok well i know that guys dont normally get involved with other people's fights (think: miss congeniality when she was a little girl and punched the kid lol) but i was like good lord, lorenzo pulled a gun Kev... were they gonna wait till he was laid out on the concrete bleeding out with 5 bullet holes in him before they called the police? i dont think the movie was that bad, but that part just bugged me. i was wondering does this happen so often in the "hood" that no one even tries to call the police, they just wait for people to get murdered?

I grew up in a bad neighborhood like this. One day there was a drive-by next door to my house and nobody ever called the cops because nobody got hurt and nobody wanted to be the snitch that got targeted next. People are in everybody's business for their own selfish business (you hear your neighbor got a bonus on his paycheck so you bring it up in conversation to try and weasel some money out of them for grocery money and such, etc, etc.) but if some guy gets into an argument with your neighbor across the street you dont cut in because the guy could be a drug dealer, a pimp, a crazy *beep* of any kind and if you piss him off too he knows where you live and can *beep* you up. If he shoots your neighbor then you would hide and call the cops. The movie scene really wasn't too far out of the norm.

I get that. But seriously EVERYONE was there watching it. It wasnt like some nosy person saw it unfold and didnt say a word it was like 150 ppl standing around watching. Like there were enough witnesses.
