Would $374 million make that much difference?
Now I am a financial guy and one thing about me is that if I have money then I would be responsible with it. Especially if you are from a ghetto heck hole.
But I didn't see that displayed by the characters in the movie. If he spends $100,000 in one day, how would he fare better with $374 million. I would think that he would go through that quick.
The money would go to phony friends (because anybody in a poor neighborhood has got them), then your embezzlers (like he affiliated himself with that scumbag gangster, now that was smart), then there is the lavish lifestyle. Going back to the hood in a helicopter, was he out of his mind? A helicopter is not a need, and then that just broadcasts what you got to everybody out there. He will have to spend the rest of his life hiding out.
The smartest thing would have been to get the money, keep it a secret from anybody but his two closest friends, and then run. Anytime you are coming from somewhere of misery and urban blight, everybody is looking to get a cut, by force if they have to. And that bully (Lorenzo) and the gangster would be on his ass for the rest of his life, in addition to some of the other "boys clubs" in Atlanta, where this movie takes place.
So a happy ending to this movie would not have made a good movie!
