Just binged. Enjoyable, but lots of side plots that didn't really seem relevant

There were a number of characters that just sort of drifted away but they kept coming back to them. There was an effort to somehow tie them all back into the story, but most of these efforts seemed weak. In particular, Margaret, Chalky, Nelson/George, Eli, and Gillian. While I appreciated any effort to depict the time period, these characters could mostly have been forgotten many seasons ago.

Tommy / Joe coming back and shooting Nucky was unfortunate because it sort of made all the efforts of my favorite character, Richard Harrow, seem pointless. No issues with Nucky dying, but I don't see why Tommy, who seemed to not like his grandmother that much, would make his way back to Atlantic City just to get Nucky.

Back to Richard Harrow, the whole show could have been about him and I would have been fine. Killing him off left a hole in the series that was hard to fill in.

Don't get me wrong, it was still worth watching.
