Djust started watching on Amazong Prime

And already missed something: When James botches the ambush and ends up killing the bootlegger crew, Nucky covers for him by getting Hans killed and Nucky's brothar (Eli?) plants the idea in Margaret's head that Hans was behind the shootings. That much makes sense. But why did Nucky have the Big Jim character killed?

reply

Nucky didn't have him killed. Johnny Torrio the gangster from Chicago did. Instead of selling the liquor to Rothstien in new York as Nucky originally intended, Jimmy and Al Capone intercepted it to sell it to Torrio, Capone's boss instead but the problem is Torrio's boss, the big cheese in Chicago at the time, Big Jim was against getting into the liquor business so Torrio had to take him out in order to take over the outfit and get into the liquor business.

So it was Torrio and Capone behind it. Nucky had nothing to do with it.

Thanks for the explantion.

And I've already missed something else - who attacks and mutilates Pearl the Jimmy girl, and why? Was it to make Jimmy flip out? Start a turf war?

reply

It was the Irish gang. Capone muscled his way into greektown so it's basically a territorial dispute. They slash their most profitable whore to send a message not to *beep* with them.

I will say this about watching it on Amazon Prime. BE AWARE! They suck you in and make you pay for the last 2 season's. Really made me angry.

I started watching this on Amazon Prime. I got to the last two seasons and BOOM they make you pay for the last two seasons. $50 for the 2 seasons. Prime is a great concept but they do a lot of bait and switch on series. Also, if you have Netflix, Prime just replicates the movies.

When I got the Fire Stick I was living in a long term stay hotel on an extremely long assignment for my company. It added a lot to my TV experience (plus who wants to go out in San Antonio in the Summer, it is boiling hot!) Now, back home with cable, I rarely turn it on.

*End of rant*
