Goes Downhill After the First 3 Seasons

Seasons 1-3 were excellent. But then things take a really dark turn in S4 when the writers decide to kill off all the fictional characters. Since they cant obviously kill the historical ones they decide to bump off almost everyone else.

Then adding the Greek tragedy arc in the final season was pretty contrived too.

i'd say the low point in this show is around the mid part of s4 and up to s05e06 then it finds its footing again.

As soon as Michael Pitt was gone the whole thing was utter garbage. The show would have been amazing had they kept him and Scorcese -- while holding on to the historical context. It's just proof that one actor can make or break a show.
