Well Will's mom says to Charlotte "they put him away so they turned it all on his kid" meaning that Will's dad was put in prison and they blamed Will and tormented him because his father was no longer in the area.
As for Charlotte, maybe she did rejoin the band? Probably dual-lead singers like the above poster said. Sa5m didn't mess up the band, in my opinion. They were still great.
Sa5m joins the band shortly after the funeral scene. Given the tone of the scene and the fact that the characters are all dressed in black or dark colors, it's a given tha the dad died. Not to mention the fact that Charlote freaks out when Will asks if her dad was dead and she tells him to take it back. And finally ther fact that Charlotte tells will straight out that her dad died. She also tells him that he got sick about a year before his death.
Did you watch this film on drugs or alcohol? Maybe you are from another country? Is English your native language or are you retarded?
If you watched the film up until the point Sa5m joined then you also saw the point where Charlotte explains that her dad died.
I think it is you that is retarded. the OP was not talking about Charlottes dad. he/she was talking about Will's dad.
