Ending

The ending to Bandslam really didn't work for me...it's Charlotte's graduation and she's back in the good graces of the band okay. Yet she appears to be getting back together with Ben who basically dumped all over Will calling him DWI etc. Maybe i'm missing something, but the two images of the Charlotte character really failed to mesh for me. It kinda felt like the production team just slapped an ending on this and said "DONE."

The great thing about Bandslam is that none of the characters are really very stereotypical. Ben isn't ever really shown to be a jerk. Charlotte didn't even break up with him for that reason. He might be a bit inconsiderate and egotistical (this isn't even really evidenced, but conclusions can be made) but he's shown to be your typical guy, not naturally the sweetest thing but never really mean to anyone.

Thinking Will was moving in on a girl he genuinely cares about, Ben does at one point look into Will's history and discovers a name that might hurt him to be called, but I don't think Ben knew about anything other than a D.W.I. on Will's dad's part. Nothing too serious, just maybe a little embarrassing. This was all that Charlotte seemed to know anyway, and there's no reason to really think that she wouldn't know anything Ben knew.

He did know about his dads DWI. He was using it since he thought Will was what was keeping Charlotte from him. (Although no doubt later he found out it was the promise she made to herself for her fathers health)

When he insulted Will, he later instantly felt bad about it. Sort of a necessary evil. And from the fact that Charlotte knew about Wills DWI too before the funeral, means that her boyfriend confessed and told her about what he had done.

He probably apologized in person to Will a little while after they performed. Charlotte apologized before they performed.
