Dissapointed with Fisher

The writers took half of Season 3 to redeem Fisher after he kissed Rebecca at the End of the World party and then just wrote him out as a cheater, off camera, at the beginning of the second half of Season 3. Did Andrew J. West and Amber Stevens break up in real life and this is why they wrote him out? It seemed so out of character that he'd full-on cheat if they spent an entire half season building him up as this repentent guy who worships the ground Ashley walks on. Anyone know why there was such an abrupt end to that character?

That is a good question. Maybe he only signed on for a certain amount of episodes? It seems kind of unprofessional for them to change the format and plot of episodes because two of the actors broke up. But then again I have no idea how things go on in show business.

Maybe it was really part of the plot. Besides, they had to set it up to where Ashley was jaded - she made cynical remarks about Casey/Cappie and Rusty, and in that episode it was hinted that Rusty/Ashley was in progress.

i think the writers wanted ashleigh and rusty together so fisher had to go.

I remember reading an article awhile back about Amber and Andrew. They were dating before he came on the show. Apparently he signed on to do a certain number of episodes (a "stint" is what I think they call it) so I guess they mapped out his storyline with those episodes. I'm pretty sure the two are still together now.

They are together now but they had broken up for a little while though.

I never really liked Fisher for Ashley. He also came off a bit gay. Not sure it was intended or the actor playing Fisher is gay. Didn't find him sexy at all. I really wanted flip flop spring break guy for Ashley. He was hot and they looked so great together.

Once a cheater...
He may have redeemed himself for a little bit, but he was he'd cheated once and not with just a random person, with Rebecca! I don't think Ashleigh should have taken him back.
But Fisher was cute and I liked their relationship in the beginning.

Actually, it went the other direction; they're now married.
