Funny I just saw the last part of this movie and first thing I thought was her accent was terrible LOL

I couldn't agree with you more. I took french for 2 years in high school and can do a better french accent than she can and make it more believable. If they wanted a real french accent for the movie, they should have gotten a french actress who speak fluent english like Sophie Marceau, who was in many american movies. And Melissa Gilbert would also have a role in the film but she wouldn't be the star of the movie.

I found it difficult to separate her accent in this movie and the one she used in Zoya

Her accent is so awful I barely got through the movie. Melissa Gilbert might be a good actress, but accents are not her thing. She's horrible at doing them. I mean, she's really bad and pedestrian, and a million or more people could do one better.

If you can believe it, she did a tv show (only lasted a couple of weeks) where she attempted a New Yawk accent, and it was even more cringeworthy. Like, shockingly the worst attempt at a NY accent you'd ever hear. No wonder that show was cancelled quickly.

This was almost as bad. Why even bother I wondered, because the movie would have been just fine without it. I was waiting for the male love interest to stop her mid-sentence and tell her character "It's okay, you don't have to pretend you're French. You're not even close." Or something.
