Pretty darn good! Why no US release, even on DVD?

Given the lack of any US release (even straight-to-DVD), I figured this must be quite a turkey. Oh, contraire! Having finally seen it (on brilliant BluRay, import), I give this dark fantasy high marks for visual beauty and compelling storytelling. Does anyone out there know why this movie has been totally denied a US release? There has to be some legal or business entanglement which threw a wrench into the process...

I speculate legal issues related to distribution rights, profit-sharing, etc. It all comes down to greed, people who wanted more money than other people willing to give up.

SOLOMON KANE movie posters actually appeared at my local theater cineplex so I eagerly awaited the six months to November 2009 (or was it 2010) when the movie was supposed to play. But it didn't happen and the poster disappeared from the glass case.
