Hugo and his notebook
He should have simply explained: "This is my father's notebook, who tragically died, and it has a sentimental value to me and these drawings which he drew remind me of him. Please, could you give it back to me?" I'm sure the old man would have pity in that case.
Instead, he just yells like a retard "Give me back my notebook".
I couldn't continue watching after this because I realized it's gonna be one of those movies where characters' actions don't make any sense.
