Edward Norton could have played Dickie

Just watch Rounders and use a little imagination

reply

Actually you have a point here.

If the idea is to stay alive, I'm driving.

reply

na

reply

I believe Edward Norton could do it.

Edward Norton could play a lot of characters. He's a superb talent but his off camera attitude and baggage ruins it for him and shelves that great talent.

reply

What off camera attitude does everyone seem to think Ed Norton has? Apart from his departure from Avengers, which seems to me to have been blown WAY out of proportion, he hasn't had any kind of incidents or anyone saying anything nasty about him in his entire career. Besides, it seems to me that the whole avengers thing was more between Marvel and Louis Leterrier than it was between Norton and Marvel. And he was very gracious and polite in his response towards Kevin Feige's very low and immature comments IMO

Actually, there was supposedly an incident (with American History X, I think) where he eventually ended up editing the final movie because he disagreed with Tony Kaye on the direction the movie should be taken. I'll try and find a link to the article.

reply

The incident with AHX was really the director being the problem. Norton was actually trying to save the film's integrity. If you like the movie the way it is you can thank him more than the director who wanted to cut many great scenes because they were too much. He was given some creative control by the studio so it was all in his bounds to do so. The studio agreed with him so the director got pissy leading to him wanting his name removed from the film.

reply

I've heard he has a real attitude problem on set , with EVERYBODY

reply

Could Norton have played the part, absolutely, he is that good of an actor. BUT, and of course you knew a BUT was coming, there is no chance in bloody hell could he have played him better than Bale. Bale was spot on magnificant, nobody could have done a better job and that includes Edward Norton..

reply

If Christian Bale hadn't done it, Edward would have been a good alternative.

And I agree with rupertpupkin702. The whole thing about him being a primadonna or whatever, seems to be nothing but bloated rumors. And the thing about American History X.. it wasn't just Norton who agreed with the director's vision, but in fact the entire studio, and I think they asked him, if he would supervise the edit.

reply

So?

reply

He definitely could, but Bale was outstanding, it's hard to imagine anyone doing it better.

reply

This is a Joke post right??

reply

No way, Edward Norton sucks, Bale owned this role.
