Question about Luigi

So I was wondering. During the song genterns when Luigi stabs the guy who brought him coffee Blind Mag tells him to stop it. And he has this look on his face instead of y'know threatening to kill her too. So I was wondering whether there was some kind of relation between the two. I know some go for romance but she's old enough to be his mom (at least theoretically if we assume he was still young when the rotti and marni thing occurred) But then later when rotti ordered nathan to repo her he is there 'cheering' him on.

So what do you guys think? Or would you say the reaction is more of shock? Where we could theorise he literally lets his anger takes control of him but his intention for murder is not really there...like the hulk perhaps. Thanks for your time

I think he knew he couldn't do anything against Mag without Rotti getting even. Mag was the voice and prime positive image of the company. So if he hurt her in any way then Rotti might have done something to Luigi. That's my take on it anyway.

Oh... never thought of it that way. Good point though still say doesn't suit the look on his face... Have to watch that scene again to be sure though.

same here!

I'm the monster! I'm the villain! What perfection! What precision!

I think biggest reason is because Blind Mag is protected until she officially quits. But I know if I was in that world I'd be like a lost puppy dog for Blind Mag.

***Spoiler alert***

Just assumed Rotti was "saving" Mag for Repo because he wanted to either:
1. Enjoy forcing Repo to kill Marni's best friend (just because Rotti is such a heartless, cruel S.O.B. who pretty much lives to watch Repo suffer).
2. Knew Repo would refuse to kill Mag, which would put into motion the series of events in the last act of the film.

What it looks like to me is that Luigi is actually surprised that someone actually took the initiative to tell him to "stop it". I mean, we gather that Luigi is quite formidable and even feared. Notice how the Genterns and his gofers behave around him-pure fear. So, the fact that someone actually stood up to him fearlessly surprised him. He's used to getting his way or the highway.

Oh, here's another theory:
Mag's best friend, as everyone knows, was Luigi's would-be stepmother, who probably used just exactly that tone and phrase with him as a young child (only without the additional operatic flair).

I agree that part of it was because she was the face of GeneCo and therefore protected. However, during that scene I particularly noticed the look on Mag's face and Luigi's reaction to it. It's like she's the only pure and beautiful person left in the bloody world of the hierarchy of GeneCo, and the mindless violence all around her hurts her all the time. She has a look of endurance, pain, sadness, purity. I think Luigi saw that and for the first time experienced a twinge of guilt, and didn't know how to react, so he defaulted to simply doing what she said.

Blind Mag gives a strong impression of "untouchable" because of that scene. I think it's a combination of her importance and her goodness.
