Repo! The Genetic Opera vs. Rocky Horror Picture Show

Okay, so I've seen things where people have compared these two (great) movies together, but I just realized something that nobody has caught about these two yet. Has anyone noticed that the opera scene in Repo resembles the floor show in Rocky Horror? Like, "We Started This Op'ra (BEEP)" is like "Rose Tint My World", because it's like a bunch of scantily clad people putting on a theatre performance. Then, "Chromaggia" is like "I'm Going Home", because they are both singing a kind of end-of-the-journey type song, and then both characters die at the end of their songs. This can also be like "I Didn't Know I'd Love You So Much". Anyways, enough with comparing songs, but both involve a stage performance where three people end up dying (Rocky, Frank, and Columbia in Rocky Horror, Nathan, Mag, and Rotti in Repo). So, anyone else see the connection? Or am I just rambling on?

Terrence is a huge RHPS fan, so the comparisons are not very shocking. During the Q&A for the Devil's Carnival he talked about how much he enjoyed the setting that viewings for Rocky Horor had and his desire to spark an audience like that.

Meh. He just had a desire to rip it off. Cult films and the experience must develop organically.
