New Repo movie?

So Obviously Darren is working on The Devil's Carnival with Zdunich. And here is a quote from Shock till you drop about the film

"Some more developments on The Devil's Carnival, that new project Darren Lynn Bousman is directing that is being seen as a companion piece of sorts to Repo! The Genetic Opera. Shooting has wrapped on the project and we've got two pieces of casting news to share.

Bousman announced on Facebook today M. Shawn Crahan of Slipknot will appear in the film as "The Tamer." He included a piece of art with this update. You will find that teaser poster inside with some casting info Shock exclusively learned.

In addition to Crahan, we have discovered Dayton Callie is also in the film. This veteran actor has been seen in Deadwood, Rob Zombie's Halloween II and, most recently, Sons of Anarchy, in which he plays Chief Unser.

Cast members previously revealed include: Terrance Zdunich (co-creator of The Devil's Carnival), Alexa Vega, Ogre, Paul Sorvino, Bill Moseley, Emilie Autumn, Marc Senter and Sean Patrick Flanery. And there are plenty of other top secret names involved."

I also read somewhere that Paris Hilton has said she is going to be in another darren film soon. So with having Alexa Vega, Ogre, Paul Sorvino, Bill Moseley, and Paris Hilton HOW can this not be some sort of a sequel to Repo! I think it will be if you ask me. I know it says companion piece but obviously it takes place sometime in the Repo Universe! All I know is I am psyched to here we are getting something from these guys soon enough!

That's awesome, thanks for the information. I didn't know those two were doing another film together!

It would be really cool to see a new film with Paris Hilton running Geneco.

Go back to your bridge, troll! You have no power here!

Several months after this original posting, and the movie has come out. I saw it, and it's not at all related to Repo. It has the same feel (dark music, interesting costumes and make-up, Terrence Zdunich singing!, etc) but is a whole other story in a different universe than Repo. It's actually what they hope is part one of a series of movies.

Unfortunately Repo!: The Beginning will probably never be made. Devil's Carnival is working to shoot the second segment, as well as making Devil's Carnival available on DVD soon. I'm hoping they can come up with the funding for another Repo! movie in the future but it's doubtful as of this time.

You would think killing people would make them like you but it doesn't. It just makes them dead.

Bousman is known for having his "repertory theatre" of actors... he uses his friends in all of his films whenever he can.

Repo! 2 will likely never happen. If it does happen, it will be in a damn long time, like how it took 10 years for a second Boondock Saints to be made. If Repo! makes its money back from DVD sales (which I think it's getting close to...), then Lionsgate may pursue the idea of a sequel.
