Its my job......to steal and rob....

Why, when Graverobber is singing this song does he shout out the word 'graves'? I mean, it advances the part of the plot where the authorities are chasing after him, but why would he shout if he was trying to hide from the authorities??? Anyone have any ideas on this one?

IMO the reason why Graverobber shouts "graves" (both times he does)
is just because he gets really into the song, and temporarily forgets
about the authorities.... i think it makes some sense.... i guess
:-/???

Ya, after I posted that, I thought about it a little more and that is the only thing that really made sense to me....and it is completely logical as well

My opinion is that Grave Robber doesn't care for the authorities & find it exhilarating when he shouts out "graves".

This is pretty much what I get out of it, as well. I think the Grave Robber does it as a challenge to call attention to himself in that situation. Furthermore, I almost wonder if he does it to distract the authorities so that they would go after him instead of Shilo, but then they ended up running together anyway.

Well, he is the 'storyteller'. He seems to be the one making up the story as it goes along. I think he yells out "GRRRAAAAVVVEEEESSS!!!" to make his story more interesting. He's in the story, but he forms the world to meet his own desires.

Why doesn't anyone talk in the movie? What is the point of singing everything? That is about how ridiculous that question sounds to me. It's an opera so it's not entirely literal. The songs are just a medium to tell the story with.

No, that's what an Opera is, everyone sings everything.

If there were talking, it'd be a musical.

Well..he might have been caught up in the song.

But the thing about Graverobber is, he's a bit of a prankster and poop-stirrer. He likes shaking things up (like blaming Shilo for whistling the Blind Mag song) and so he might have done it on purpose to get a rise out of her.

And cause a great deal of trouble in the process.

He doesn't blame Shilo for whistling, after he whistles Shilo says "Hey, that's Blind Mag's song" and that's what Amber freaks out about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=tevg_jT5 Sco&t=164

After he whistles, Amber says "who did that", and the Graverobber points at Shilo. It's a quick shot, but it's definitely in there.
