Mag's Eyes (Contains Spoilers?)

So, I've been watching scenes from this movie online for the last couple of days, and it's been like really good. I thought I would get grossed out by the gorey scenes, but I surprisingly didn't. That being said, I have a certain weakness for gross things that happen to eyes, and I am nervous to watch Mag's death/gouging of the eyes. Could someone please describe this scene to me in great detail, so I will eventually build up enough courage to watch it myself?

Mag sings a beautiful song in Italian but the last few lines are in English: "I would rather be blind". After that, she sticks her index fingers (which have sharp pieces of metal on them) directly into her eyeballs. A little blood squirts out from them. We then see her struggle slightly before ripping her eyeballs out of her sockets. There's some blood coming from the empty sockets.

Would you say that this is the grossest scene in the movie?

reply

IMO this scene ties with Thankless Job as the grossest scene in the movie. I've seen it at least 20 times and I still cringe and wince when it happens.

Thank you so much for your help! I literally just watched Chromaggia a minute ago, and it was actually a really beautiful song. The eye gouging was manageable, though a little gross I could definitely handle. Can't wait to watch the full movie now.

There is nothing gross in this movie. Everything is so fake, I mean the whole "fantasy universe" feeling of the movie, if you're grossed out by a little bit of fakey eye gouging, then you need to mature a bit.

Woah dude, chill out. It was my first horror movie ever, so I needed to ease into it so I wouldn't get too grossed out and never watch horror movies again or something. My initial post was made a long time ago. Also, since then I have watched many other horror/gore movies, so I think I'm good on the maturity level. Also, since when is maturity measured on how well you can handle horror movies? Because horror movies aren't for everyone, and some people can't handle them, so does that mean they aren't "mature" enough?

Don't feel bad. I'm a horror/gore junkie, and I hate eye stuff and nail stuff. Go figure. I was also expecting something to happen, and was worried, but it was a lot tamer than true gore movies, IMO. I was going to turn it off (was looking for straight up horror/gore), but am glad I watched it. Want to see it/hear it again.

And I actually had to double check that Paris was the actress/singer as I was amazed at how good she was.

Yeah! That scene was pretty freaky D:
I was so sad to see Mag go! She was my favorite :( <///3

I had the most difficulty with this scene too. I had to watch the whole film about 3 times before I could watch it the whole way through without covering my eyes. It's definitely not bad once you actually get to it. It's pretty quick and not nearly as gory as other scenes. But it's a shock you know is coming and the anticipation is the killer.

RED! The blood of angry men
BLACK! The dark of ages past!
