Maybe this lost money, but unless they're stupid they should know about the huge following this movie has gotten since its release. It also wasn't marketed or advertised very much or very wide. The budget was very low considering. With an 8.5 million budget, how did this lose money? Can't Bousman get them made on goodwill or trust, given that he brought Lionsgate the entire Saw franchise?! This is so stupid.
shareThe answer is probably not. I've heard that in some areas of Copyright, the company looses rights if they haven't done anything with it in a few years...maybe thats whats going to happen with Repo.
Or, at least, I can only hope.

A follow up isn't out of the question from the creators perspective, but the studio has a stranglehold on the rights and there's no way they'd shell out a penny for it. I hope (sooner than later) that the rights get handed over to Terrance Zdunich and Darren Lynn Bousman, and that they can run a successful crowdfunding campaign... That's a pipe dream though.
