I lost the plot

One of the most complicated stories to be turned into a movie to become one of the most complicated movies of all time.
A tangle of arms deals a multinational bank, a basket case African state, the Chinese, Israel, Iran, Turkey, Interpol, the Us Attorney General, Owens motives, hitmen of hitmen, vengeful sons of an arms dealer and lots of people with foreign names who you can't remember. Have I left something out? I think so but I couldn't take in anymore and I lost the plot.

You've done better than I have pullgees. Because half the stuff you mentioned I didn't know was in the movie. As I got BORED!! half way through.

I lost it too. It sort of starts in the middle of a convuluted plot and the ending feels unfinished. Aside from the museum shootout, I didn't really like the film much.

It was actually very easy to follow...
1. A bank that has billions of dollars, wants political, military and debt power.
2. They fund the General of Niberia to stage a coup in his country so that they have his political backing.
3. Israel is warring with the Muslim countries. They have weapons that are countermeasures to defeat what the latter have.
4. Iran wants missiles to take on the Jews.
5. China is the place where they manufacture cheap weapons, and where the bank can make more money, by buying from them at a cheaper cost and selling them for billions to the Third World. Make a profit.
6. Interpol and NY distric attorney's office are trying to bring down the bank for their illegal activities, and they need evidence.
7. Clive Owen is a dedicated law enforcer who wants justice. No other motive.
8. Vengeful sons because the bank assassinated their father (so who would not take revenge?).
9. The Turk sells weapons to the Israelis for huge money. He then makes more money from the bank, by supplying them with Volcon upgradation for their cheap Chinese weapons (who the bank has sold to Iran). Iran and Israel are warring against each other, and the Turk has already supplied the Israelis with weapons to destroy what the Iranians will buy. So technically he plays a double game and makes more money.

In short, a multi billion dollar bank wants control, and thus funds wars and sells weapons to keep the wars going. In doing so, they gain political power and control the money that they fund. Clive Owen and Watts are two straightforward people who want justice for all the illegal activities and killings of innocents that the bank is causing.
All based on facts - stories have appeared in the TIME.

It was actually pretty easy to follow. You pointed out how many topics the film hit on which just shows how skillfully the writer and director were able to pull it all together without making it a complete mess.

If you know much about the IMF (which was briefly mentioned in the film) and related subjects, this film just scratches the surface of global politics and economics.
