Similarities with Lord of War

Both movies deal with the futility of trying to change a system setup to benefit those in power, the fluid meaning of justice and legality and the complete corruption in the very highest levels of business and govt where money and power are the only things that matter.

Both movies feature arms dealing as a central point, are very understated, almost art film like in a lot of scenes, yet have major stars.

Esp the scenes in a dark room where the diligent investigator finally catches one of the 'bad' guys, and realizes that not only can he not hurt him, but will be forced to release him, and the full extent of the system is revealed to him.

Both movies are uncomfortably close to the truth, have bleak endings, and unsurprisingly were not hits.
