7 Bullets in a Revolver? POSSIBLE SPOILERS

IS it just me (Which it isn't) or did anyone else notice when they were having the main shootout in the building (I don't remember which one) and Clive Owen had a revolver and shot it 5 times sat down, didn't reload got up and shot it 2 more times!?!?!?!?

reply

i have yet to see the movie but some smaller caliber revolvers can hold up to as many as 10 shots

reply

Yes its possible.
I remember a movie that had the climax based on this. That time 7 bullet revolvers were new.
So our hero shoots 6 shots. The other guy is counting. He then removes the 7th bullet and the villain can hear the gun empty.
The villain drops his guard comes out and the hero reloads the last bullets and shoots him.
If you were in place of that villain you too would have been dead :-P

At the very least, Smith & Wesson and Taurus make 7 shot revolvers in calibers like .38 Special or .357 magnum. There are probably others.

reply

Yup...I have a Taurus .357 and it holds 7

reply

u got it all wrong, he first fired 2 at the first shooter then fired an additional 6 shots- he had a 8 barrel revolver- mostly likely a .38 special

reply

In the Guggenheim shoot-out, Clive Owen's character uses a 6-shot Smith & Wesson Model 66 Snub-nosed revolver. So if he does fire 7 rounds without reloading then it is a goof.

...now I do it just to watch their f----n' expression change.
