I really didn't expect to be so moved by this film. The relationship between Victoria and Albert was just so beautiful. Emily and Rupert were absolute gold together.

I've always been touched by the romance of their courtship and marriage since I was a young teen and first read how Queen Vitoria mourned his death until the day she died. There was something about that level of devotion...how she wore mourning for another forty years, eventually even to the anger of the people. Besides, having always been fascinated by English monarchy, and reading how so many royals ended up marring strictly for politics and entered into relative arrangements where in the end they only tolerated each other, it's always nice to hear of a love match. Most historians will tell you they got along quite well and were quite fond of each other.
