With her husband Tim Healy? I'm rewatching the first few series soon, and am sure I saw her in the advert, but I always thought the hotel manageress looked like her too.

As for the new episode, I LOVED IT. It had loads of funny parts with perfect timing, and used many of the characters (like Welsh and Rock) so well.

You know toxina, I didn't watch it (was disappointed in the Christmas special) but think I might catch it after reading your glowing report.
You must! Maybe it's on ITV catchup online. It's a steady buildup throughout. There are two new female characters, one who is rather tasteless but isn't afraid to speak her mind, I thought she was a good new one. Most of the old favourites get good screen time (The Manageress, The Barman, The Swingers...etc.) and you're going to love especially the last 15 minutes where Madge is confronted by her debt collectors (I won't spoil who this is but the threat title might give it away) and there are plenty of delicious one liners fired between them. This last 15 minutes actually brings most of the characters together for one scene, which I thought worked really well and was the perfect conclusion to an enthusiastic new series.
I'm a Geordie so I love the inclusion of Tim Healy's character especially.

Or... an hour of my life I'll never get back! Cilla was awful (nothing new there), it slowly simmered (rambled on and on) for 45 minutes and built to a completely inept pay-off... that pool-side fight was like something from a school play. Absolutely awful TV. A 'comedy' show without wit or originality, pfft. Haha look they're swearing and pushing each other into a swimming pool... if only someone had slipped on a banana skin too, now THAT'S comedy!
That was only the second episode I've seen.. I was talked into watching this and another a while ago because "it's hilarious"... it's not, I barely raised a smile. Never again :)
Ofcourse she was. And suit yourself, or try watching more episodes before judging them all or else you just sound priggish.
