I know this is based on a book but does anyone think this could have been how Jack and Rose ended up from Titanic? Jack (Leo) probably turned corporate because he wanted to give Rose the life and things she had before Titanic. Rose (Kate) only loved Jack because he was that spontaneous young guy that excited her. Just an interesting way to look at the characters in this movie.

shareNo, he just went to Inception. In Shutter Island Leo has three kids. And what movie is To Catch a Thief? Do you mean Catch Me If You Can? Cos I don't think he was alluding to that one either. He's a thief and a corporate espionage that implants subconcious ideas into peoples minds, but at the same time is haunted by the image of his dead wife and two kids only in Inception...
P.S. - watch Shutter Island. I thought it was really good. And then watch it the second time, it's completely different ond second viewing.

shareyou seriously read my mind because i was thinking the same thing as soon as i came to the page to check out what it was about and saw that both were in it. although i wasnt necessarily thinking about the whole Jack turned corporate and everything that went with it(but thats because ive never seen this movie) but i WAS thinking about how this could be in some ways a continuation of their love story just based on the fact that leo and kate are both in it and they play a married couple. idk its wierd. but im glad im not the only one who's thought that.

shareLeo and Kate said themselves that they wanted to do a movie totally different than Titanic but everyone keeps running their mouths "Oh when I watch this movie I don't pretend that it's April and Frank, I pretend it's Jack and Rose and this is what would have happened if Jack lived blah blah blah". Guys both Kate and Leo are amazing actors and to be honest I like their movies today then the ones that they did back in the 90's and I'm positive they want most of their fans to be that way as well but they constantly have Titanic shoved up in their faces and even when they are at a premiere signing stuff and taking pictures with fans you will see that most people are holding up poster boards with pictures of Leo or Kate in Titanic screaming "I LOVE YOU LEO" or "I LOVE YOU KATE" when it's obvious that they really still only love them for Titanic. I also remember when Kate was going through her divorce with Sam there wasn't no one saying that they felt bad for her because her marriage was ending or because her kids would be effected. Instead the only thing her so-called fans were posting was "SHE'S SINGLE AGAIN! GO GET HER LEO!!!". When are you guys going to realize that she and Leo are only friends and that they have so much more to give than a movie that they made seventeen years ago?
Another thing is that I remember a fan tried to get a petition for Leo and Kate to be on Oprah to talk about Revolutionary Road when promotion began, and I remember the fan saying something in the petition like "They could reminise on old Titanic memories and talk about how it was working with eachother again.". So basically that fan wasn't wanting Leo and Kate to talk about Revolutionary Road, but to try and get them to promote Titanic all over again. Besides, if Jack and Rose had both survived, they would be a lot older than April and Frank by the time the 50's came around. Jack was suppose to be 21 and Rose was 17, meaning that he was born in 1891 and she was born in 1895. So by the time the 50's would have came along it would have meant that Jack and Rose would've be in their 60's. Revolutionary Road, Titanic, and The Great Gatsby, tie-in theory

1. In the original timeline both Jack and Rose survived the titanic sinking and to hide from hockley(Billy Zane) are living with new identities as Frank and April. They are fed up of their depressing lives in Revolutionary Road. So when Rose commits suicide, Jack decides to time travel back to titanic days and change the course of history.
2. Jack the time traveller was pulling a con the entire time he was on the ship, feigning love for Rose to get close enough to switch out the diamond for a fake. He pretends to die in the ocean so Rose won't look for him and makes his way to a lifeboat. The Proof that he is a time traveller are :- ((i. Jack Doesnt' have currency of that time period, he gambles to earn money)), ((ii. Jack mentions lake wissota which was a man made lake made five years after titanic sunk)) ((iii. the rucksack and his haircut weren't of that time period)) etc etc
3. Once back to shore, he sells the diamond to attain his massive wealth, changes his name to Gatsby, and begins to seek out his true love and the girl he left behind... Daisy.
