This movie is just incredible.

Those who can't empathize with either of the characters are seriously in denial. Who can't relate to feeling as though they might have settled for less than they are capable of? I've been both Frank... Afraid to take the road less travelled... And April as well... Desperate for something more fulfilling.

I think the moral is to figure out at what point you decide to be grateful for what you have. And it is also about finding the courage to be yourself. We're lucky we live in this day and age where most of us have the luxury of figuring that out. Back then, I imagine it was much tougher to break from the norm.

As an artist who really questions his abilities... I also relate to April's disappointment in not being able to follow through with her acting career. I hope I have the courage to explore my capabilities as an artist and not settle for any other vocation. If it turns out that I have to do something else to get by, I hope I can find acceptance. April simply could not accept her circumstances. I felt sorry for her. Felt sorry for Frank too.

I just adore this movie. It really makes you think.

"If being crazy means living life as if it truly matters then I don't care If we're completely insane"

Do what you love. Love what you do.

I agree, this is a fantastic film. One think I don't agree with:

"We're lucky we live in this day and age where most of us have the luxury of figuring that out. Back then, I imagine it was much tougher to break from the norm. "

Nonsense. Today social judgement is stronger than ever before. Teenage suicide is rampant because of that. Also, because of GFC a young man like me (29, almost Leo's age in this film) with a decent job (similar to Leo's in this film) cannot afford to own a house let alone have three children. Something my wife and I would really want. This is not personal, but I get a bit sick of the "we should be happy we live in the times we do". A lot of younger people envy the people who lived in the 50's, 60's.

The housing bubble is why you can't buy a home? Try blaming the Federal Reserve which has devalued the currency by 95% in the last 100 years.
