First of all, I find it ironic that Mick keeps his fireplace going so often, since the vampires in Moonlight like the cold and are killed by fire.
Secondly...what kind of fireplace is it that he has?! It's awesome! What are the crystal-like things the fire burns from? And how the heck do I get a fireplace like that? :)

shareI think the fireplace was meant to symbolize Mick's love of humanity. The rest of his home was done in sharp grays and blacks and had a cold, sterile feel to it, much like the vampire world.
The fire is apart of a world that Mick still loves and tries to participate in.
