How would Your ending for Mick + Beth be written?
Should Mick turn Beth? or try to find the Cure?
shareShould Mick turn Beth? or try to find the Cure?
shareEither way I would be happy,but I think Mick would be happiest becoming human again. Another thing I wonder if Mick were to become human again is that maybe he and Beth could have children together someday. I think that would make Mick happy to raise a family and grow old with Beth.
shareI would like it to end with Mick turning Beth. It would be more climactic if she was turned while dying. He turns her to save her. But because he says in the series that he wouldn't do that, it would probably have to be a mutual decision. I think that Mick might like being a vampire if he had someone to really share it with. That was always his biggest complaint, not being able to share anything. Maybe they could have a little fun! And because they were both always saving and protecting ppl, they would adopt a child into their family... maybe some vamp turns a child and leaves them as a "newborn". BAM! Oh how i wish this show was never cancelled lol it was so good!
shareI'd like it to end with Beth dumping him because she couldn't handle it.
Realism = good.
And, uh... Hot sweaty Mick & Josef sex = better?
Oi, guess what?
Neither. Mick should be with Josef. Josef and Mick = Totally made for each other. Two immortal beings, that have already developed a close bond over 50 years, falling in love, and getting to spend literal eternity together, now THAT'S Romance. *melts*
But I'll pretend I actually want Mick and Beth together *shudders*, and try and answer your question. Personally I think Mick would seek out a more permanent version of the cure. He's never going to turn Beth. He's not going to make her into the one thing he hates most about himself. Part of Mick's attraction to Beth is her humanity, even if he did fully get over the whole angsting about being a Vampire routine, he's not likely to want to take that away.
Given how badly Mick wanted to be human again, I'd like to think that's what would have happened. Beth said it really well in the last episode, that Mick was the "anti-vampire vampire", and he would never turn her.
shareAs someone above me said the ultimate and final note should be that Mick is forced to turn Beth when she's dying. And in a tearful conclusion they will both be happy about it, even if that wasn't his ideal solution. I think that would be an incredibly romantic ending.
But everything leading up to that point -- say, another season or two -- should focus on Mick wanting to become human again and find a cure. Beth should remain human all this time. I think when they both are vampires you might not have a show, because its heart and strength lies in the point of contrast between the leads and how they're struggling with this.
I have to admit it would be pretty sexy to see Mick turn Beth.
share**Should Mick turn Beth? or try to find the Cure?**
Neither. I think the series and MickBeth's dilemma would have been best resolved if something out of left field, so to speak, caused the demise of both lead characters together. Something like what happened in The Notebook, only not quite as gentle nor genteel. Instead of the two leads becoming one and "living happily ever after," they co-habitate for a while--fighting "the good fight" for all us fans--and then die unexpectedly, simultaneously. A serious train wreck or car accident would have been sufficient. And, since this was network television, that demise could easily have been implied or inferred, and a decapitation, not a conflagration.
