A wile ago I was online and found a website that showed TV series that were canceled early on, but were still good. On it there was a show that was canceled in the 90's but used a very similar concept. Can anyone think of the show i'm referring to?

Are you thinking of "Brimstone" by any chance? That was on Fox, about a dead cop who is returned to Earth to track down 113 souls escaped from Hell. Similar plot, but a more dramatic tone.
