What happened to Cady? SPOILERS

I just started watching this show on Netflix yesterday and got through Season 1. I don't understand exactly what happened to Cady. Last we see of her, she's going off to New Mexico to visit her mom, and Sam is calling her frequently and she's not responding. Then Andi confesses her feelings while Sam and Cady are still in a relationship, Andi and Sam go on a date, and the entire time I was expecting Cady to show up and see them kissing or something but she never showed up again! Sam did get a phone call on his first date with Andi but hangs up quickly, and doesn't explain anything to her. Did they ever officially break up?

They never officially broke up. However she was never seen again. Maybe they wanted to avoid bringing up the fact that Sam was dating his half sister.

Yesterday was Thursday. Today it is Friday. Tomorrow is Saturday. And Sunday comes after...wards.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I guess the revelation of his paternity was such a shock that he forgot about banging his sister. Somewhat understandable, I guess...? Or not.

Cady isn't Sam's sister, and that much is obvious without having to read spoilers on how the series would have ended. Either way, I wondered what happened to Cady myself, and to Sam's brother.

She was one of a number of characters on the show who just disappeared with no explanation; e.g. Josie, Sam's Brother and mother

Sam's brother had no real reason to be their once he had moved out anyway(though the fact that in the pilot he was applying for colleges could mean he to has moved away.

The mother just dissapeared though.

Cassidy is semi explained since they say she ran away while ben was in prison for 8 days
