Why is it called Robin Hood?

I think the movie unnecessarily burdened it self with the Robin Hood name. It could have been a pretty good medieval movie about sir Loxley

But it wasn't about sir Loxley but Robin Longstride also called Robin of the Hood by the sheriff in the end.

It's a ROBIN HOOD origin story. Had there been a sequel, it might have been more traditional.

And it's not, in any case Sir Locksley, the title Sir is always followed by the person's first/Christian name, ie Sir Robert, Sir Ian , Sir Christopher etc,
