tech, gain performance by setting a max fps ?

i know this is not the time and place
but i am a member here, and so on...

but i was wondering it is possible to gain any extra performance by setting a max fps the comp produces since my screen has a max of 60Hz (others have probably alså thought of that) but since the screen cannot produce more than 60 pictures a second, i just wondered...

Turn on VSync Enabling VSync tells your graphics card to synchronize its actions with your monitor it will give less fps but will reduce tearing.
