Damn best game I ever played!

I come from a history of games, actually, a massive ex-Blizzard fan. Played Diablo, Diablo 2, Warcraft 1, 2, 3 and WoW pretty much hardcore, loved car games (need for speed in particular) and recently;

Call of Duty 4
Fear (all three)
GTA (All three, 100%)
Every Quake
Stalker
Doom 3
Serious Sam (1 and 2)
MoH series

etc, etc...etc...you get the point.

So yeah, I got CoD4 for xmas and completed it in two days, I was pretty much addicted to it for a few days and got into the Multiplayer, but then as I saw reviews of a game called "Crysis" and youtube video's comparing Crysis and CoD4, I was interested in the "free roam" thing that World of Warcraft has (played that pretty much non-stop for two years, sigh).

So after reading reviews (coincidently on Gamespot) and watching heaps of youtube video's, I bit the bullet and downloaded the 2gb demo.... three hours later I had finished it twice, and bought the game the very next day. That was three days ago.

Just finished (like, 15 minutes ago) the game.

My system specs are:
2gb DDR Ram
dvd drive
ATI Radeon x1950 series, updated
intel core 2x2.2gh'z (running 4ghz, I do a lot of sound processing)and I ran the game at 1280x1024, with all medium settings (high was too glitchy).

Overall, quite possibly the most awesome, ass kicking game I have ever played.

The whole idea of the nano suit just brought back memories from the whole teenage "yeah man predator is the best movie ever" thing most of us go through at 15, weapon customisation and even using tranq darts, sniper riffles and being able to drive, fly, and operate anything I want. Boats, tanks, cars, it's awesome.

I entered the game thinking I was kicking Korean ass, and I was right, but the game's twist is the only game I ever played with a twist that forces the last few 'levels' to be on the other end of the spectrum. I ain't sayin' more than that, if you haven't played it, get the demo. www.gamearena.com has the demo there, but you need to register (its free) to download it (I topped 1.3mb/sec so it took about half an hour to download.

Crysis > all.

Soon to install the Orange Box, and finished F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate

11/10.

Good to see another PC gamer that shares the same taste as I. As for Crysis i thought it was worth playing just for the visuals, Looks amazing...game play on the other hand...nothing special.

The game play wasn't as active as Call of Duty 4, or even F.E.A.R, you are right on that part.

Although I feel that it's game play was somewhat unique. With the ability to approach most situation from more than one perspective made it more interesting.

For example you can enter most complexes from different entrances, driving a truck in, jumping out and blowing the truck up, or sneaking in like I did and silently killing people.

The ONLY thing I didn't like is the armor on the enemies. Sometimes the A.I wasn't the smartest either from what I saw.

For example, I shot some guy in the head with my sniper, and he just stood there, my bullet blew his hat off, but he didn't do anything about it, and you really have to mow people down, sniping is hard in this game. Enemy's don't bleed or slow down when shot either, they seem to ignore the bullets if the shots aren't a killing blow. That's one thing I saw which was kinda annoying.

I look forward to playing the game again!

That was the craziest FPS I have ever played. The graphic was awesome, the gameplay was interesting and the story was somewhat Farcry and Half Life combined. With the nano suit it also made me feel like playing a 3D version of Metal Gear Solid. It was hard to play though. If you don't use stealth you wouldn't survive in 30 seconds when engaging the enemies. Thanks to the nano suit you can be cloaked for a while before you find a place to cover up yourself. Good news is you could use developer mode to make things less painful.

Saying this game was set somewhere in Korea, but I didn't see any signboards written in Korean, instead they were in English and Chinese. That's pretty weird.

yeah, I loved it as well: Played on MacPro running XP and it was flawless with every option on 'full'

they set things up pretty nicely for Crysis II too! :)

Surely you've not played Deus ex,Crysis has nothing special except graphic and sound, the story is extremely cliched and predictable.
P.S Games are not all about graphic...

reply

Yes i have, Deus Ex Conspiracy remains top 5 of my list. I highly recommand to those who love story based FPS

The story was predictable? I didn't see that, I thought I was fighting to rescue some hostages on Korean territory because they were over-run upon discovery of technology that dated mankind. Wasn't expecting what came next.

Dues Ex :) Haven't played that in YEARS!

I think the nano suit was the main attraction of Crysis, and I had fun of playing with it. And the final scene was created so damn good. While HL2 was a let down, this one ain't.

My favorite FPS:
Half Life
Dues Ex Conspiracy (PS2)
Far Cry
Crysis
Sin
Blood
Kingpin
FEAR
Medal of Honor (PS2)
Rainbow Six

My favorite video/pc games:
GTA (III, Vice City, San Andreas)
Siren (PS2)
Half Life
Dues Ex (PS2)
Silent Hill (PS1)
Resident Evil (PS1)
Martian Gothic: Unification (PS1)
Parasite Eve (PS1)

I am not a serious gamer. I stick around Crysis. These are my favorite games, in order from best to worst.

Crysis
Turok 2 (N64)
Turok (X360)
Smash Bros Brawl (got it when Sears was being retarded and selling it about a week ago)
Turok 1 (N64)
Turok 3 (N64)

Nothing after those are spectacular to me. I agree with the advertising for Crysis, lets hope they don't do that for the rest of the CRYSIS TRILOGY.

I thoroughly enjoyed Crysis, it was a great 6 hour romp and did remind me of Predator a lot. Will definitely get Warhead when it's released. The best game ever...probably not...I would say that Stalker, which is also on your list is a superior game and kicks virtually every game out there because of the bleak, dark atmosphere.

Don't bother with FEAR Perseus Mandate...nowhere near as good as the first one. Definitely get the Orange Box, even if its just for multiplayer purposes

Fitter, happier, more productive

**** warning possible spoilers below if u havent played the game ****

I dont understand why people criticize the plot of Crysis. For me the man vs alien theme never gets old. And how can it get old, since when you are bored fighting humans, orcs, elfs, whatever you-name-it from the fantasy mythology, alien monsters is the only other thing left.

Crysis does a very good job to introduce the alien menace in the game, with only a hint that something is wrong in this island at first, going full "war of the worlds" in the end... I think its awesome.

apart from good graphics(which also you gotta have a VERY strong graphic card to be able to play it full force) this game offers nothing new.
the nanosuit is not that impressive also! only the cloak part is really nessesary.
overally it is a fun game but its just another FPS with nothing special(and its TOO short)
