When is this going to come to theaters? I read somewhere in November, so I am hoping then. It would be great to come a little before Halloween. Since it is a horror-thriller, right?
shareI don't think even the director knows right now. They are probably coming out either this fall or early next year. I have read that the guy who wrote the short story this movie is based on was very happy with the rough cut he saw. He said it was very dark and original. But if they do come out this year they have to start marketing it pretty soon.
I don't mind the wait if it's good (and I think it will be). We have 2 Costner movies coming in the near future so that is always a good thing.

You might be right. Costner is not a-list anymore so some of his movies might go straight to dvd. Hopefully this will not happen with this movie.
shareNo way will it just go to DVD. It will be released, I'd bet on it. But I hope not Christmas Day or next year. October or November would be great...late Oct. or early Nov.
shareThere is still no release date set, but in an interview on Cinema Chat from just yesterday (July 30th) they said that special effects work was still in the works on the film, which would explain why it hasn't been released yet. Even though Costner isn't at his career peak anymore, he hasn't had a film go straight to video since he made it big, so I would doubt this goes straight to video, especially since it's had some big buzz (there was a test screening of a 5 minute clip of the film at Cannes-I think it was Cannes anyway). Plus, as was mentioned before, Haunting in Connecticut did quite well, so I think they'll be releasing this in theaters, hopefully soon!
