The ending ruined it for me SMH (spoilers)

Why couldn't they have made it clear for us? I hate leaving things to the imagination. Either have it be the dad or one of the mound walkers but don't make it unclear, then I turn to the commentary for answers
Do any of you listen to the commentary?
The director said it himself that he ended it so you can pick your own ending.
He said he wanted the reflection to be unclear so YOU (the Viewer) can decide for yourself he said it can be a Mound Walker or it could be Kevin either way the ending isn't so happy because there are still more Walkers Kevin has to face even if it is him in the reflection.
Happy or sad I don't care give me the ending to the movie that I paid 15 dollars for.

Like life cut and dry, all life's riddles solved for ya? Leave no mystery because that makes us think, and Goddammit, I'm a passive viewer, I don't think!

look did you see the ant nest shown in the film ?
Did you ever shuffle over an ants nest as a kid?
The ants go mad, pour out in thousands,

The ending ruined it for me
What ruined it for me was the ENTIRE film! What a waste of celluloid! And Kevin Costner SUCKS! That guy puts me to sleep!

Too bad you're still not in your coma. You would save us all the time in saying YOU ARE THE ONE WHO SUCKS. Go back to sleep. Nobody missed you in the first place here.

I didn't even consider whether it was the father after it was made clear that the place was crawling with the creatures. The guy was obviously blown up with his daughter. The boy is doomed. Should've listened to his father.

Absolutely, I just finished watching this film. It was one of the worst I have watched in a long time! I kept thinking about just switching it off, but thought I would hang in just to see how it ended. When the credits rolled, I could not believe it. I actually felt quite cheated and somewhat angry! Just left you dangling. Felt like it was chopped off before the end......what a waste of time.

Your reaction is totally overblown. Come on already, have a little imagination. You want a picture painted perfectly for you? Get real. You wasted your time bitching about a perfectly good movie that has a unique finish. Get over it. AND it was a great movie. Everybody who has seen it so far that I know love it. Sorry for sounding harsh, but really, don't be such babies about stuff. Other movies have ended with stunning bluntness so what's one more?

I just watched it on DVD and I agree! It started out slow, got a little better, so I thought Hey I'll see how it ends. Terribly! The film fell flat.
Things in the movie weren't even explained. What exactly happened to the bully at school, how did she 'fall' down the stairs yet say nothing? What about her brother...he stepped off a ladder? What was the rash that Louisa had on her back?

And Kevin Costner seemed to almost be sleepwalking through this movie. And what was the point of that teacher's role? To be yet another victim?
The son was almost as bad. He cowers inside the house and lets that babysitter get slaughtered!
What a waste of time this film was. Its a real pity, as it had potential. The music was scary, the creatures were VERY scary and the premise sounded great.
But it went nowhere at the end. What is up with this fad of directors leaving it to US to decide an ending? COME ON, SERIOUSLY!

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Everything you just wrote is not true. TND is very entertaining...Kevin Costner IS and always WILL BE a great actor and he was fabulous in this. The little boy was very good also. I am disgusted with the comments about this great movie. You people just can't judge a good movie at all.

Me and my imagination have a close relationship. We like working together. I find that having an imagination makes the world a better place and movies a lot more interesting.
