So she pushed a girl down the stairs and took a nap?

Can someone explained what happened between Louisa and the blonde girl? They show stairs and then the teacher says one broken arm and she's in the nurses resting? What the hell happened?

Don't be so snide when somebody asks a legitimate question. Louisa took out her anger on the blonde for insulting her by saying she'd already sat in her seat in class. So Louisa pushed her down the stairs and was getting sick from what was happening to her at the mound. The teacher told Dad she'd already thrown up a couple of times. And besides that, when you do something that bad, why not seek a bit of sympathy so you can cop out of it? It made sense to me. Hope that helped you some.

I didn't realize speaking my honest opinion was being snide. If I knew the answer, one that was concrete and not assumed by putting pieces of this plot full of holes puzzle together like yours, I'd have given the poster another answer.

ok? aside from your stupid argument, getting back on topic, the blonde girl didn't tell anyone she got pushed down, the teacher says she slipped and fell, then louisa got sick due to the mud people, the blonde girl was either scared so she didn't rat her out, or was embarrased she got it handed to her by the girl she was mocking

Luisa *might* have been having morning sickness.

From what I could gather, the Mound People were looking for a queen to carry on their species.

From the blood that was washing off her when she was in the tub after coming home all muddy from the mound the first time, could be construed as either menstrual blood or that she had lost her virginity.

If that was the case, she could have been pregnant at that point.

Just my take on the movie.

I assumed the blonde girl was too scared of Louisa to tell on her. Louisa being in the infirmary later was a coicendence and was probably designed to make you think he was there to be told she pushed the girl down the stairs, there by setting up a little surprise when it turns out the blonde didn't tell the truth about what happened.

I think Louisa was in a trance when it happened, she was just staring at the girl and never responded. I doubt she even remembered what happened, this happened a few times in the movie. She was throwing up because of the mound people taking her over, she did this later in the movie also. As far as the blonde girl, I have no idea but she was kind of shaking and scared when they showed her sitting in the nurse's office. I would guess she was just terrified.
