After the babysitter's body has been found, and Costner's character is at the police station, the cop says that the teacher has picked up his kids and taken them home. We then see a brief scene of her talking to the boy about his ant farm. I thought to myself, "Wow, she has a nice house for a single, small-town teacher." Then, the cop is taking Costner home and gets attacked. Costner drives the cop car to his house, goes inside, and starts calling for the kids. It was only then that I realized the teacher took the kids to HIS house!

The babysitter was just murdered there and buried in a shallow grave! Why the heck would she take the kids to this house in the sticks?!
