Embarrassing remake! Only watched it for 2 minutes of Campbell Scott

I really wanted to like this remake, because I liked the original Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey Maguire, BUT, for the life of me, I could not get past the awkward acting by a stuttering Andrew Garfield who was obviously miscast in this and not *amazing* as Spider-Man at all. The replacement of Mary Jane with Gwen Stacy is virtually insignificant to the plot, but the forced romance turned meet-the-parents situation was laughable, to say the least.

In my opinion, the whole film was carried by the older, more talented and well-respected actors such as Martin Sheen and Rhys Ifans who played convincing characters without overdoing emotions and other respects that Garfield failed at.

I was mostly disappointed by Campbell Scott's minuscule screen-time - barely 2 minutes and 2 lines, in total. I know he's more of an indie / underground actor and not really into big theater productions, but still, if he was amongst the first eight billed actors of the whole cast, he should've been in the movie for a little longer, at least. Is Campbell Scott' screen-time as Richard Parker as limited in the The Amazing Spider-Man sequels as well?
